Principal's Message

Dear Westmont Community,

It is my great honor to welcome you to another school year.  We will use the power of music to infuse 2018-19 with symphonic, lyrical, unifying lessons, messages and celebrations.  Please join us as we develop the theme in individual classrooms and collectively.

One aspect of Westmont Elementary School that we are most proud of is our sense of community.  Everyone is truly valued.  Every adult, whatever their role, is here to inspire and bring out the best in our students.  As our Superintendent, Mr. Richard Martinez states,

“It is said that ‘Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of communication and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.’”

We each strive to BE THE ONE adult that advocates for children, especially the ones in most need.   Which is why our team is committed to delivering a world-class education to our community.  I have complete faith that our teachers and staff in partnership with parents will ensure academic success for our students.   In short, 2018-29 will be full of accomplishment and triumph.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Badillo, Principal

Dual-Language Immersion Program:  Our Dual-Immersion students in grades Kindergarten through fourth grade are thriving. We are so proud of their accomplishments.  The goal of Westmont's Dual-Immersion Program is to promote bilingualism and bi-literacy, achieve grade-level academic achievement or higher, and encourage positive cross-cultural attitudes and behaviors in all students.

Future-Ready Promise School

Technology has revolutionized our curriculum.  As a Future-Ready Promise School, every Westmont student is assigned a personal electronic device.  All teachers will use technology to support a rigorous, engaging, 21st Century curriculum.

Kindergarten through 6th graders access ViewSonic interactive display technology.

Youth Empowerment Seminar continues for incoming 3rd graders. The program expands with daily breathing exercise and monthly refresher courses for grades 4 - 6.  A special note of gratitude to Dr. Pramila Agrawal for her generous support.
